Welcome to the
"Handlebar"
Long Island's First Gastropub
A Gastropub is a British term for
a Public House that specializes in high quality food, a step above
the more basic “Pub Grub”. The phrase was coined in 1991 when David
Eyer and Mike Belben opened a pub called the “Eagle” in London. They
placed emphasis on the quality of food served. Gastropub’s usually
have an atmosphere that is relaxed and its focus is on cuisine
prepared as well as in the best restaurants.
Here at the Handlebar we prepare
everything fresh and all is made to order, from the appetizers to
the salads, entrees and desserts. Even the sauces are prepared
fresh daily. So please enjoy the meal our kitchen staff will prepare
for you and try to relax, unwind and enjoy!
